Swim Training is Really Working on My Quads
Just back in from an amazing swim training session. I’ve been totally amazed at how significant the leg kick in in the front crawl or freestyle stroke. I have naturally strong legs as a runner and cyclist, but my technique in swimming really sucks. We did 4 x 100 with a swim float to isolate the legs, and I was literally travelling at half the speed of the other girls in my lane. Over the weekend I’d been skiing, and did some jumping on my friends 10ft trampoline with enclosure, and the fatigue was really evident. Apparently if you’re not swimming 3 times per week you are not improving significantly, so I certainly need to keep the training up. Aside from that my running is progressing well and I’ve always been good on a bicycle, so I’m hopeful that with some perseverance it will come together. Onwards and upwards as they say!
